How do I charge my Trax device?
  1. Plug your wireless charger into a power source using the Mini USB cable that comes in the box. When connected, the small LED in the charging pad will show a red colour.
  2. Put your Trax in the middle of the charging surface with the logo facing up.
  3. When your Trax is correctly positioned, a purple/blue LED light will show on the charging pad and the LED light on your Trax will begin to flash green.
  4. If your Trax has been updated to the latest available firmware it will be fully charged after a period of 2 hours (depends on the battery level at the time charging begins) at which point the LED will show a solid green colour.
  5. If your Trax device has not been updated to the latest available firmware, the LED on the device will only flash green when on the charging pad and it will not show an updated battery status in the app. The device battery will still be charging, but there will not be an indication of it being fully charged until the firmware has been updated.

When charging your device from a completely drained battery, it may take up to 30 minutes for your Trax device to indicate that it is beginning to charge.

How do I update the firmware on my Trax device?
  1. Connect your wireless charging pad to a power source and place your Trax device on the charging pad. Keep the device on the charging pad while updating the firmware.
  2. Activate Bluetooth services on your mobile device.
  3. Go to “Menu” in the SnowTrax app.
  4. Select “More” from the top menu (the last button with three dots symbol).
  5. Select “Update devices”. Your list of active devices will be displayed on the screen with their Bluetooth ID number.
  6. In case you do not see the Bluetooth ID, click on the two inverted arrows and it will refresh the search page.
  7. Tap on the list for the device you want to update.
  8. The update progression bar will be displayed on the screen. Your Trax is being updated to the latest firmware version.
  9. Once the device is updated, you can see the latest firmware version in Tracker Settings.
  10. Take the device out in an open area and try to get a GPS signal and mobile connection.
How do I add a data plan to my device?

As part of your POC purchase you will receive a Data Plan activation code. After adding your Trax GPS device (using the ID & PIN provided in the box) to your account in the SnowTrax app, you will be asked to enter the activation code you received. Enter the code to activate your dataplan.

If the SnowTrax app doesn’t automatically ask for an activation code, go into Tracker Settings and tap on ADD SUBSCRIPTION button.

How do I set up a Geofence?
  1. Go to the Geofences list in the upper menu of the app.
  2. Tap “ADD GEOFENCE”.
  3. Zoom in on the area of the map that you want the Geofence to be in.
  4. Start drawing your fence by taping on a starting point on the map.
  5. Add more sides to the geometrical form by tapping on the screen. Each tap will create a new line. Draw the fence 10m bigger than the area needed, to minimise false alerts.
  6. When you are ready, click back on the first point to close the fence.
  7. Name your Geofence, adjust notifications and schedule settings, then “Save”.
How do I edit a Geofence?
  1. Tap on your Geofence on the map or in the list of Geofences in the menu.
  2. Tap “Edit”. Move the points of the Geofence to adjust the shape or size and tap the centre once complete.
  3. “Save” to apply the new adjustments.
How Does Trax calculate its location?

Please be aware that device performance is dependent on  the technological limitations of GPS satellite signals and the mobile coverage in your area. GPS and mobile coverage may vary in different areas or experience downtime, interruptions or dead spots. Please also remember that GPS is an outdoor technology, therefore the tracker will only work outside.

Trax Device Size

Trax is one of the smallest, lightest, and smartest personal GPS trackers on the market.

Dimensions: 55 x 38 x 10.7 mm (2.2″ x 1.5″ x 0.4″)
Weight: 26g (0.92oz)

Wireless Charging

Trax comes with its own wireless charger, included as standard in every package. You simply drop your Trax onto the charger and walk away.

It is important to use the USB cable that is supplied with your wireless charger, as failure to do so will mean that your device will fail to charge correctly.

IP-68 Water Resistant & Shockproof

Trax POC Edition offers the highest level of protection against dust and dirt with immersion protection to more than 1 meter in freshwater, for 30 minutes.

It can handle the snow, wet clothes, tumbles on the slopes or even a dunk in the bath.

Operating Conditions

Trax POC Edition has been tested to work under temperatures ranging from -10 to 55 °C (14 to 131 °F). Please note that while Trax is secured inside the POCito Vest, the inner temperature differs from the outside conditions. If your child is warm and cozy, so is Trax.

Battery Life

The Trax POC Edition has a 515mAh LiPo battery that lasts up to 2 days in optimal use mode – 8h/day tracking, 5min intervals, strong mobile coverage & GPS reception.

If location frequency is set for 10 seconds intervals, the battery will be depleted by the end of the ski day and you will need to charge it overnight.

Real-Time Tracking

Trax is a real-time tracking device. This means that Trax can send position updates as frequently as every 10 seconds.

It gives you almost real-time location when checking the map on your mobile app, an important feature when your child is out of sight.

Geofences allow you to receive alerts when a Trax enters or exits specific areas that you have defined in the SnowTrax App.

You can create as many Geofences as you like. You can also set specific schedules in the app, so that the Geofences are only active on the days and times you need them to be.

In order to avoid false notifications, set a geofence 10-20 meters wider than the actual area, to compensate for variations in the GPS location radius.

SOS Emergency

The SOS feature allows you to quickly and effortlessly send an SOS message with your location to the SnowTrax app, in case of anemergency.

Press the power button on your Trax device 3 times within 3 seconds and the SnowTrax app will receive an SOS notification.

Inactivity Alerts

SnowTrax will send you notifications if your child is inactive for more than 10 minutes.

To receive inactivity alerts, activity mode MUST be on. To turn activity mode on, press the START ACTIVITY button at the top of the App screen. Activity mode can be stopped by pressing the STOP ACTIVITY button, following which no inactivity alerts will be received.

Ski Activity Tracking

With SnowTrax you can record ski activities and get analytics data. Tap START ACTIVITY on the main screen, select the Trax device you want to use and the app will start recording.

Once activity mode has been turned on and off and data captured, click ‘Activities’ at the bottom of the screen where you’ll see the route your child took, along with information including total skiing distance and duration.

The app keeps historical track of all your activities recorded, with maps, ski runs, total skiing time and distance, plus average and maximum speed.

Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality allows you to use the camera on your smartphone within the SnowTrax App, to see where your child is with live images of the direction.

When you are pointing your camera in the right direction, your Trax will show up on the screen! Use the Augmented Reality button in the app to turn the feature on and off.

Speed Alerts

You can choose to receive alerts when your Trax goes over specified speeds. Add multiple speed limits and edit or delete existing ones in the Tracker Settings in the app.

Smart Battery Management

SnowTrax allows you to adjust GPS updates frequency from 10 seconds to 60 seconds or even 5 minutes. This will considerably increase time of use until next charging. You can adjust anytime the GPS frequency of your Trax in Tracker Settings.

Please note: If you have your device set to update once every 5 minutes, Trax will only send and receive communication from the servers when it has been 5 minutes since the previous communication. Any changes you want to make to the settings will only take place on the next update scheduled.

Track Multiple Devices

Need to keep an eye on several children? No problem! You can add as many Trax POC Edition trackers as you want in the SnowTrax app, all of them visible on your account.

Multiple Guardians - Share Trackers

The Share Tracker feature allows you to share management of a Trax device with other SnowTrax App users, as long as they have their own SnowTrax account.

Anyone you share the tracker with will be able to see the Trax device in their app account, set personal geofences and schedules, as well as speed alerts and other notifications.

The main user is the only one able to make changes to update tracking frequency, and they are the only one able to share the Trax device with other users.

You can easily manage shared devices and which users have access to them in the shared devices menu in the SnowTrax App.

Why is there a data plan? Why do I need it?

Trax devices connect to the GPS satellites to calculate the position, but location data is transmitted to our servers via cellular/mobile networks.

Each Trax device comes with a built in SIM card that cannot be removed or replaced. All you need to do is activate it with a data plan. With your active data plan you can use your Trax in over 100 countries without any extra charges!

Please be aware that if you do not activate the data plan for your tracker, it will not work.

Incorrect activation code

Error message in Android: “Incorrect activation code. Please try again”

Battery level showing as 0% in the SnowTrax app

If the app displays the battery level as 0% although the device was fully charged, it might be due to the fact your Trax has not been updated to the latest firmware version. If the device does not have a valid firmware, it cannot communicate to our server and thus won’t be able to update it’s battery status or location.

Network connectivity is always required for the App to show the correct battery percentage.

Inaccurate GPS position

The location accuracy of the Trax device is dependent on the GPS signal strength in the area of use. As GPS technology requires a clear line of sight for best accuracy, interference from buildings, large objects and even the physical position of the antenna (if it is face down instead of face up), can lead to the location shown in the app differing from the physical location of the device.

Trax device not updating GPS position

Please switch off your Trax device, take it out in an open area and then switch it on. This will help the device build its first connection.

The Trax device is not charging

Please try using a new USB cable in order to charge your Trax device. You can also try charging your Trax with any other QI compatible wireless charger.

Live Customer Support

We are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm, Central European Time Zone. As we are based internationally, there is no direct phone line to reach out to us, but we handle all our support requests via email, in our support interface, as soon as possible.

I already own a Trax G+ device. Can I use this together with a Trax POC Edition device on the SnowTrax App?

No. The SnowTrax App was developed specifically for use with the Trax POC Edition devices. If a Trax G+ device is added, your Trax POC Edition tracker will lose the special Ski safety features including SOS and inactivity alerts.

What are the smartphone requirements for SnowTrax?

We have Apps for both Android (Play Store) and Apple (App Store) devices. The Android App requires Android version 4.4 and up, and IPhones need iOS 9.0 or later.
